There are many reasons someone may need an evaluation, and no two situations are the same. At Chrysalis Recovery, we approach every evaluation with a grounded, supportive mindset, recognizing that this process can feel stressful or overwhelming. Our role is to provide clear, thorough, and unbiased evaluations while treating each client with dignity and understanding.
Evaluations may be:
- • Self-referred
- • Court ordered
- • Attorney-recommended for a pending court case
- • Required by probation, parole, or drug court
- • Requested by DCYF
- • Necessary following a positive drug or alcohol test for commercial drivers or other safety-sensitive positions
- • Required for other personal, legal, or professional reasons
Our team also includes counselors with specialized certifications and training in areas such as Anger Management, Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluations, and more—allowing us to thoughtfully match clients with the right level of care.

Our evaluations are conducted by licensed and credentialed clinicians who have spent years working with substance use, mental health, and the legal and professional systems that surround them. That experience shows up in the details: knowing which questions to ask, recognizing when substance use and mental health concerns are intertwined, and understanding what a referring agency actually needs to see.

Upload your relevant documents—discovery, criminal record, court order, and anything else related to your case—into the intake packet, and sign a release so we can communicate with the court, your attorney, or any other involved party such as DCYF.
Anger management evaluations

Combined LADC + anger evaluation
When substance use and anger management concerns are both part of the picture, our team coordinates a combined evaluation and gives you clear, unified next-step recommendations.
SAP evaluations
A Substance Abuse Professional evaluation supports employees in DOT-regulated safety-sensitive roles—including CDL drivers, pilots, railroad workers, transit operators, pipeline workers, and Coast Guard personnel—after a drug or alcohol violation. We also support FAA, MBTA, and other safety-sensitive requirements.
Probation/Parole, Pretrial, Drug/MH/Veteran Court, and DCYF families
We provide thoughtful, clear evaluations for clients and families referred through probation or parole, pretrial services, drug, mental health and veterans court, and DCYF. Recommendations respect your circumstances and support safe, meaningful progress.
